Does Smoking Effect You Gym Gains? Here Is The Answer!

Most dudes who go to the gym know that they have to eat healthy and take plenty of rest for a good performance in the gym. You will see them eating lots of meat, eggs and nuts. They also make sure that they get sufficient amount of sleep so that their muscles recover. But there is one thing that they take easy : Smoking.

Brad Guothro, a fitness professional and one of the hottest trainers in America, said in an interview with Business2Community that, for a great performance in gyms and for good amount of gains, the muscles in the body requires sufficient amount of oxygen-rich blood. This oxygen-rich flow of blood is halted by smoking. Smoking cigarettes or weed makes your blood muscles narrow, which slows the flow of the blood. The carbon monoxide from the cigarettes binds to the hemoglobin present in the blood, which hinders the transport of oxygen throughout the body.

Some say, 'I smoke, get high and eat big'.

Yes dude, yes. You eat a lot after smoking and getting high. But have you seen a lot of really fat cannabis smokers? No. Because use of cannabis limits the appetite.

So you want to gain mass or if you are a lifter, you know what to do.

Gouthro: " Yes, thankfully, lots of the effects of smoking on performance can be corrected for adult and young smokers. I've seen people, who smoked, collapsing and almost fainting after 15 minutes of jogging on the track, when compared to now, as a smoke free person, they're going over and above their comfort zone for 10 km at a pace of 12 kilometers an hour! "

Well, finally, smoking is a bad habit, but you can reverse the negative effects. It is okay if you do it once in a while. Time to give up smoking, and time to hit the gym.
